As part of our continued investment in Canadian talent, we are proud to announce an additional round of tryouts for our Academy program.

These sessions are open to male players born between 2011 and 2013 and are designed to identify and develop promising young athletes within our high-performance environment.

Our academy teams will fall under our club’s professional structure and thus be sanctioned directly by Canada Soccer. In terms of competition, our yearly calendar will include matches, tournaments and showcases against top local, national and international competition. As the Canadian Premier League continues to expand and invest in League1 and youth development across the country, other CPL clubs are expected to adopt a similar approach, helping to build a stronger and more unified soccer ecosystem nationwide.

Player Eligibility

• Male athletes born from 2011 to 2013.

• DUE TO LEAGUE REGULATION Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

• All players are responsible for their own transportation and personal expenses

• No refunds, except if the event is cancelled by the club

Cost

$47.00 CAD per player
Non-refundable unless the tryout is cancelled by the club.

What’s Included in Your Tryout Fee?

• Participation in training sessions during the scheduled week for your birth year

• Evaluation by York United FC technical staff

• Hydration will be provided for all participants throughout the sessions.

• Our media team will be on site throughout the tryouts to capture professional photography of the event. 

Tryout Schedule:

• 2011 & 2012: October 24 | 3:00 to 5:00 PM

• 2011 & 2012: October 30 | 1:00 to 3:00 PM & 3:00 to 5:00 PM

• 2011 & 2012: October 31 | 3:00 to 5:00 PM

• 2013: November 5 | 3:00 to 5:00 PM

• 2013: November 7 | 3:00 to 5:00 PM

What to Wear

All players must arrive in:

• White shirt

• White shorts

• White socks

• Players must bring their own cleats (metal studs are not allowed)

Registration

After completing payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions to submit your full application — including playing history and contact details.

Note: Upon registration, all players (or a parent/guardian if under 18) will be required to sign a medical waiver and a media release form as part of the process

Important Notice for All Players

Please note that in order to participate in the tryouts, all players who are currently registered with another club must provide one of the following:

• A release letter from their current club, or

• A signed letter of authorization (permission letter) from their club allowing them to attend the tryouts.

This document must be presented at check-in on the first day of tryouts. Without it, players will unfortunately not be permitted to participate.
